In the fall and winter we will hunt 4-6 hours daily, during spring and summer we reduce the daily hours to 4.
As the days get hotter, the hogs bed down earlier in shade and are less active.
General
Absolutely. We schedule single hunters together to make a group, and frequently will have a seat open on another hunt for you to hop in.
HeliConcepts mission is to safely eradicate feral hogs from Texas lands, all while having a blast. We take pride in our professionalism, safety, and a great respect for the land and those who live on it.
We never provide anything less than our absolute best, and we are proud of the difference we have made today.
For safety, and potential firearm malfunctions, HeliConcepts restricts firearm usage to our provided rifles and ammunition. This way, if it breaks we bought it!
We only shoot our provided IWI Zion-15 rifles out of our helicopters.
Shotguns, pistols, and SBRs are all great… just not for efficiently killing pigs from the air, and that’s what we are all about.
Helicopter Hog Hunting
A sunrise meetup for our safety brief and dry run, we will get blades spinning and put a few rounds on steel targets to get used to shooting while flying, then we will hunt for however long we have and RTB. If you are doing a full day, we will have lunch and cold NA drinks, before returning to the skies for dusk.
We keep a very close eye on the forecast leading up to your hunt, In the event that we need to contact you. We never push safety, if we cannot fly due to unsafe conditions, we will reschedule your hunt to the nearest available date.
Our schedule is first come, first serve. When you contact us, send us multiple dates you would be available so we can get you locked it. We require a 50% deposit to book your hunt. Our fall and winter season is booked months in advance.
Absolutely! We frequently have hunters from around the world fly with us. All we require is that you are proficient in English, as we need to be able to communicate with you during the hunt.
Whether it be a full tactical kit, or tennis shoes and a tank top, all we require is closed-toe shoes, and underwear…
During fall and winter months the helicopter can get chilly with the doors off, we recommend long pants, a jacket, and sunglasses for the wind.
Landowners
We only charge if you hire us to come with our own professional shooters to quickly and efficiently remove the hogs from your land.
If we bring hunters out over your land, we will keep your land free of pigs at no cost to you!
All of the land we hunt is under a TPWD LOA (Landowner’s authorization) permit, this is a very fast process. All we need is your address, an outline of your land, and your contact information. You set the rules of the permit, and can deactivate it at anytime from your computer or smartphone.
Feral hogs cause incredible damage, as you know. Ruts, lost crops, injured animals, disease, and a threat to your safety. We hate hogs, we hope to one day shut the hangar doors having no hogs left to shoot,
Helicopter hog hunting is shown to consistently improve land and the surrounding area, we rotate the land we hunt to best utilize the “scared away” time, and meet them when they show back up. The hogs learn that your land is unsafe and start moving away from it, then your neighbor gives us a call.
You are the reason we do this, if we hunt your land you will see how quickly the hog damage subsides, you will have a lot of vultures at first, then prepare for better yields, healthier livestock, cleaner water, and fresh air. We love to show appreciation for our long time landowner relationships by taking them up to see their magnificent land from above and maybe get a few hogs themselves!
We do not pickup the downed hogs as we cover too much land. The best course of action is to let nature put them back into the land via scavengers and vultures. The hogs rarely last long and are typically scattered bones within 48-72 hours.
